I thought I would collect some interesting photos of buildings around Dnepro. \u00a0We have only seen a few that would qualify as actual houses but they may be apartment buildings as well. \u00a0We have been told that it is unusual for anyone to live one family in a house here in the city but in the country it is more common. \u00a0Most people like apartment living. \u00a0Some of these buildings we pass every day on our way to work others we see going to Church or to other places.<\/p>\n

This first one we pass everyday and it seems to fill most of a block and is a combination of styles. \u00a0There are also buildings within the complex that you cannot see in this photo.<\/p>\n

\"Notice

Notice the new and the old combined in this building.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This is the private kindergarten that is next door to our building from the ninth floor. It seems like a very nice place to go to school. The picture also shows the very nice apartment buildings that are close to ours.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Another

Another view of the apartments close to ours that are very nice with the run down buildings near by. At the right is actually another school – perhaps another kindergarten or day care as it is mostly young children and there are interesting things to play with and on in the front.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"To

To the left is the walkway we take to our apartment between the very nice buildings and the “dump” which is filled with litter and broken down buildings.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"We

We pass this building everyday. At one time I think it was probably a beautiful building but now it has grafiti on it and broken windows and it is a crumbling version of what once was. We often hear dogs barking inside.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Another

Another interesting building we pass every day. It seems to be made of wood instead of bricks or concrete like most buildings are. It is in very bad condition but is obviously lived it as we often see people coming out or going in and we hear sounds coming from it as well. Not very inviting though.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Back

Back behind gates is this building that also was probably once a very nice building.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This looks like a church but it seems to have apartments in it as well. There is often a woman or a man out sweeping (with a short broom) and it is well kept and in very good condition unlike some buildings.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This is a part of the large Jewish synagog and museum that we pass going to Church every week. The three level towers are also a part of it. It is a huge complex that has entrances on this side of the block and on the other side as well.. There are other buildings that are older that are part of it as well.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This is an interesting building that we pass on the tram. I took this through the tram window before I dropped my phone.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This is a very interesting old building we pass when we go to Church as well.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"On

On the next block over is a small simple Church. This old building is attached to it and the picture is showing the large cathedral they plan to build using this old building. The building is very ornate but the windows are mostly broken out and the outside is crumbling. It will be interesting to see what if anything changes before we leave to return home.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This is just for fun. It is a cute little house – not sure if you can really go inside but it does have a door and a window.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"This

This is the other side of the little house – obviously an advertisement for the restaurant inside the hotel.<\/p><\/div>\n
