Today was the day after what was to be a big storm. \u00a0It was actually a big storm – just not so much here. \u00a0We probably only got about three or four inches of snow and then some icy stuff on top of that – so I went out to put the garbage out and slipped several times – it is icy. \u00a0Despite that we decided to take a walk and if it wasn’t too icy to go across the main road and walk along the river. \u00a0Well, it was icy but we went anyway and so we walked to the light and crossed the road (a four lane busy road) and there is a very nice walk way near the river. \u00a0They had plowed the walkway – sort of but we didn’t go down to the river as you would have to walk through the snow to do that. \u00a0We walked a ways one direction and then turned to walk the other way. \u00a0It was blustery and very cold so after a while we decided we had had enough and we walked back to the cross walk, stopped at the market for some milk and eggs and went home.<\/p>\n

It was nice to get out. \u00a0Here are some pictures from our walk.<\/p>\n

This building is across the way from our apartment and we noticed today there are trees on the roof. Interesting.<\/p><\/div>\n

As we started to walk near the river we noticed a lot of birds flying in the air. Not sure if this shows them well but there were so many it was eerie.<\/p><\/div>\n

Here is the bridge that is just north of where we live. There are actually three bridges across the river here in Dnepr.<\/p><\/div>\n

In the distance you can see the next bridge south on the river.<\/p><\/div>\n

Although there are “normal” trash cans around there are also lots of trash bins like this around. One the street and here on the walkway. People just put there household trash and whatever in then. Interesting – although we have also seen a lot of trash on the road and along the roads.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"Not

Not far from us is a huge round building called the circus and it actually is a circus with animals and all. It is very noisy with music playing often.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"I

I saw this in the distance on the walkway and it reminded my of the movie Big where Tom Hanks is searching for a certain game machine to make him young again. This is actually a boxing game but seemed to bring back that memory anyway.<\/p><\/div>\n

I thought this looked like an interesting place. I think it is a restaurant – but I don’t know as I can’t read the sign – well I can read it but I have no idea what it says.<\/p><\/div>\n

There is a bowling alley down the street from where we live. The missionaries were going bowling on their last preparation day but I don’t know if it was here or not.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
