So Saturday was such a nice day we decided to go for a walk along the river again. On our way I took a picture of the playground in our “gated community.” Here is a picture of it – seems like a nice place.

Our own little playground and picnic area.
Then we went for a walk along the river. It was such a beautiful day but since it only got up into the 50s it got a little cool when the sun started going down and we were glad for our warmer jackets. It was our preparation day and this was our exercise so we wore our jeans and that was nice as well. We still had our name tags on so we were official.

A view across the river to Dnepropetrovsk Left Bank.

This bridge is quite a bit south of where we live.

This bridge is within a short walk of our apartment, in fact we go under it to go to the grocery store in the mall we go to near our apartment.

This is looking across the river to Left Bank with the northern bridge (actually the middle bridge as there is another one farther north).

This is Left Bank and the middle bridge looking south (the other picture is looking north)

We were intrigued by this little building that almost looked like a house boat. It is actually a waterfront restaurant and has good ratings.

This is a multi level club called Club Rio. It has a bar, a marina, a restaurant and more. Looks pretty exclusive.

Kids will always like a snow pile. This one is one of the few left and there was a patient mom letting her son climb on it. He was having such a good time it made us smile and many others were smiling watching him as well.

We have been interested in going into this Church (the Cathedral Church of St. John the Baptist) since we first saw it. It is really beautiful. Much simpler than the one we saw near our hotel in Riga but still beautiful. The nun who was tending it was dressed in more of a country mode, skirt, sweater, scarf. She took care of the many candles and tourists, and the little store inside.

Here is that waterfront restaurant up closer.

One thing is true – boys and skateboards and bicycles are always inventing new ways to ride and this park had lots of opportunities to be creative and lots of boys trying them out.

This Sculpture to the fall heroes is along the path. We had to walk through the skateboarders and bicyclists to see it up close. It is very interesting.

Another view of the fallen heroes sculpture. Flowers left at the base.

General Margelov must have been a great general to have such a sculpture of him erected.

This sculpture is to the Youth. I took several views. It is very detailed and interesting.

The sculpture’s signature

I thought this looked interesting. It says what you think – Cafe Caravan.

Another view of Cafe Caravan – you can almost see the tables and booths down by the water where the boats can come in as well.

What is that smiling out there in the grass?

It’s a welcoming trash can!

Coming back this car was parked outside our playground as we walked through to our apartment (that is the entrance to our apartment building in the background). It is like an army camouflage car. I see other interesting paint jobs but I usually don’t have my camera near by.
So that was our walk. It was still a beautiful day when we returned but it was getting cooler so we were glad to go inside and be comfortable. We had left our windows open and it was comfortable inside but we soon were closing them as well.
