My Adventures Where in the world is ….

Crossing over the walkway we decided to continue walking to the other side. We looked down on the walkway and saw two men sitting on the side playing instruments.

Another sculpture. This time a tree. Later we saw yet another wedding couple putting ribbons on the tree – there are some interesting things hanging on it.

The pulling boat – we have seen this boat with lots of passengers and music.

Being towed – this looks like a boat we saw on the Hudson River by Manhattan – that boat was a super speed boat – definitely one you would get wet in.

Gas Station on our way back to our apartment.

Close up of the gas station. Remember these prices are in Grivne so about $1 a liter. So not as bad as some places.

Here is the lead of the motorcycle “parade.” It went on for more than ten minutes with the motorcycles three to four across. It stopped traffic and was so interesting to watch. Some would wave and I waved back.

Right behind the statue you can see the amusement park. Much of it is just like home.

A pool (the blue wall) that looks like it might be for like seals or other water animals – there are bleachers to sit on and a stairway in the pool.

The building ahead is a bumper car house.

Do you recognize this one? The swings go out into wide circles around.

On of many blow up things that children can climb in and on.

Not sure but I think this one goes up and down – probably fast.

The teeth are actually part of a huge blow up alligator that opens and closes his mouth to spit out children.

Roller Coaster

Bungee jumping – the child is belted in and there is a trampoline under him – the vendor gets on the tramp and gives him a good pull and he goes up and down and can even make himself go up and down more. The children were having a wonderful time. I took a lot of pictures but am only putting up a couple.

The other side of the Olympic training area. Here is the entrance – we saw several young men coming and going here.

Sign by the entrance – it basically says this a school for physical training in Dnepropetrovsk. It seems from the sign that high school students also train here.

As we left the island we saw some people getting in one of these skiffs.

In the distance you can see the statue of Taras Shevchenko, a Great poet who was born in the early 1800s and is revered in Ukraine as the founder of Ukrainian literature. The stature is truly huge.

Here is one of the many couples we saw having wedding photos taken. They are on the walkway near the river and we took this one from the bridge.

There is an “Olympic” Training center on the island and this boat house is there on the river. More pictures of the facility later.

Here is another couple having wedding pictures taken. They are above the waterfall on the island.

As we walked onto the island we saw this couple having their picture taken with doves. Later we saw the man asking people if they wanted their picture taken. It was cool to watch.

There is an inscription on the stone by the cross. It is on the way to the “temple” we saw on the island.

Ribbons on the bells – these were hung the Saturday before Easter and are still there.

Such a pretty little Church. The sign says “?????” – temple. The Ukrainian decorated eggs are still hanging inside and there are hundreds of them in all different sizes.
