Carl’s Outside Adventures

Filed under: Adventures Intro — admin @ 9:05 am

Today is May 9 2020.  Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and Carl has been very busy working outside getting our flower and vegetable beds in shape.  It has been a lot of work but not as much work as the Peony bed was.  There are some rocks but so far no big rocks or tree roots to deal with.  It is looking really nice and I am excited to soon have it all planted and growing.  So here are some updated photos for you to see his work.

Here is the finished picture of our peony plants. We have a lot of blooms on the two larger ones and hope to see peonies soon.

Last year Becky and Daniel built me a raised bed for a garden and this year we moved it up into the overgrown garden so it will be watered by the sprinkler system. I had chives already growing and have added parsley and basil. That is it for this year.

You can see here how the herbs are above the rest of the garden. We are only planting on the first tier this year as that is all Carl is going to clear. The first part has some radishes (in front of what you see), kale and then the tomatoes you can see. The plants behind the tomatoes are going to go into the flower beds once they are cleared and into the rock garden. Beyond those Carl still has to clear. He cleared some at the end and we planted corn and will plant corn in the area yet to clear as well. Just enough to eat fresh.

Bushes that were overgrown last year. Carl cut them way back and they are coming back beautifully.

These hostas are really doing well.

The rock garden Carl is building from below.

The upper part still to clear of the rock garden. We have Phlox in various colors to plant in this garden.

So, this may be more than you wanted to see but it was easier than just adding lots of pictures to my e-mail.  Hope you are all well and finding lots to occupy your “free” time.  Love you all.
