This is our eating area - it is like a "breakfast nook" and very comfortable. The computer is no longer on it - it is in our balcon (not a misspelling - that is what they call it)on a separate table

Dishwasher - actually it is a dish drainer in a drawer - quite convenient and you can leave the dishes there or move to shelves - neatens up the counter.

Toilet and washer in our bathroom. The washer is very small and takes a long time to wash but it is so nice to have it in our apartment and not have to haul our clothes out.

Our bedroom taken from the balcon that it opens up on - the mirrors actually close on a double closet. The bed is sort of queen sized but maybe not exactly as no beds are the same size - you buy sheets and all but size not kind.

Another view of our bedroom from the balcon - the suitcases are not stored - the door goes out into the hall - notice the nice shelves

View of the balcon from near our bedroom - it is about four feet wide and about 24 feet long and is heated. At the end is the drying rack for our clothes after we wash them - it opens up very large. We have moved it now and there is a table there for our computer. There are windows all along it and in the summer there are screens we can put in instead.

As you can see it is a very nice apartment and it is very comfortable.  It is newly renovated and nicely decorated.  It came with dishes, pots and pans, silverware and many cooking and serving things, towels (personal and kitchen), hot pads, hot pan holders, sheets, comforter, bedspread, pillows and so much more.  We have bought a few things to make it more ours like small rugs to have by our bed, a rolling pin and other kitchen tools, a toilet paper holder, trash cans (there was one under the sink but no others) and assorted other amenities.  It is very comfortable in all ways.

The walk from our apartment to the office is only about a mile but about a third of that is up a fairly steep hill and that does challenge me some but it is getting better every day.  It has not been too cold (20-30 most days but much colder at night) but when the wind blows it can be brutal.  There is a little Market just around the corner from our apartment and that is very nice – we went there last night and they had so much to buy.  Last Monday our President’s wife took us to Metro which is like Cosco or Sams and then across the street to Epicenter which is like Walmart only on two floors – huge.  We were able to get most of what we needed.  FYI we spent almost 12,000 ??? (grivna) which is about $455 – it was really amazing.  I am beginning to understand the conversion but still need to check.  I went out with another sister and bought a beautiful scarf for 250 ??? (less than $10) and it is so warm and much thicker than any I had ever seen.  With my ear muffs on my head is very warm.  I also got some boots and that leather, fleece lined and so comfortable and warm.  A bit more than I might usually spend but well worth it and I expect they will last most if not all our mission – maybe longer.
